The Weber Marelli engine control units are very robust and reliable for their age. However, it can happen that individual components fail due to a short circuit or overload.

Often it is the control of the fuel pump relay or the air conditioning system.

It is much rarer for a power transistor in the solenoid valves (actuators) to fail.

These components can be easily replaced and often identical spare parts are still available.

I was able to save several control units with the following repairs:

-Replace fuel pump driver IC

- Replace the A/C driver IC

- replace worn out EPROM socket

- replace burning diodes
