Datastream Escort Cosworth T25 (EEC iV)

Ford’s EEC iV also has a serial data output, the Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC).

With ForDiag, Thomas Chvatal has developed a very good program that offers many options for all Ford models from EEC iV onwards. All other vehicles with OBD2 are also supported.

You can browse the information on his homepage and contact him in English.

The software is available free of charge and you can order the necessary USB-OBD adapter from him.

The adapter has a USB port and the common 16 pin OBD connector.

On the Escort Cosworth we only have the 2-pin DLC connector. In order to connect the diagnostic connector to the car, you need an adapter, which you can either get from me or make yourself.

You need the following parts:

-OBD socket housing with plug sockets

2x crocodile clips for battery poles

1x fuse holder with fuse 1-3A (recommended)

DLC connector male.

Pin 16 is connected to battery + pole via a fuse

Pin 5 with battery - pol

Pin 3 with the green-blue cable on the DLC connector

Pin 11 with the yellow-blue cable on the DLC connector

This allows the vehicle to be connected to Fordiag.

Ready-made adapter cables or individual parts can also be ordered from me.
